    Project Background

Mindanao Aggregates Corp., a family-owned sand and gravel producer operating along the Pulangi River basin in Bukidnon Province, Mindanao, had long relied on semi-mechanised processing methods. When the Philippine government announced accelerated infrastructure spending under the Build, Build, Build programme, company president Mr. Roberto Dela Cruz recognised the need to modernise and scale up production. In January 2023, he contacted Xianglong Machinery through Alibaba International Station, where XLM maintains a verified Gold Supplier storefront with an extensive product catalogue and customer review history.

    Channel Communication and Needs Assessment

XLM's sales engineer, Ms. Jenny Zhao, responded to the Alibaba inquiry within four hours and arranged a WhatsApp consultation. The raw material was naturally rounded river pebbles with a maximum feed size of 400 mm, a Mohs hardness of 6-7, and high silica content. The target output was 0-5 mm washed sand and 5-20 mm clean gravel at 200TPH, with the washed sand required to meet the Philippine National Standard for fine aggregate used in concrete production.

    Technical Solution and Engineering Alignment

XLM's application engineer, Mr. Tom Xu, designed a two-stage crushing and washing system. The primary stage used a  Euro Jaw Crusher, selected for its deep crushing chamber, high reduction ratio, and robust performance with abrasive river pebble material. Secondary crushing was handled by an HP Cone Crusher, selected specifically for river pebble's high hardness (Mohs 6-7) -- cone crushing provides significantly lower wear part consumption and operating costs compared to impact crushing for this highly abrasive material. A ZSW-380x96 Vibrating Feeder regulated feed to the primary crusher. Downstream of the secondary crusher, a YK1860 Circular Vibrating Screen classified the crushed material into product fractions before washing. The 0-5 mm fine sand fraction was directed to an XSD-3016 Wheel Bucket Sand Washer, chosen for its high washing efficiency and low fine-sand loss rate. The 5-20 mm coarse aggregate fraction -- carrying significant clay and silt contamination from the riverine environment -- was routed to an Spiral Sand Washer, which provided the higher-energy scrubbing action needed to clean the larger particles to specification. This split-stream washing configuration ensured that each product fraction received the washing treatment most appropriate to its particle size, maximising both cleaning efficiency and material yield.

Over two weeks of email and WhatsApp exchanges, Tom provided detailed equipment specifications, a plant layout drawing adapted to the riverbank site, guidance on foundation design for the soft alluvial ground conditions (pile foundations recommended due to low bearing capacity), and a water balance calculation for the dual-washer circuit. A critical technical recommendation was the substitution of the initially proposed impact crusher with anHP Cone Crusher for secondary crushing - this change reduced wear part consumption by 60% and operating costs by 45% compared to impact crushing, based on XLM's experience with high-silica river pebble applications. The delivery period was agreed at 55 days from contract signing in February 2023.

    Delivery, Installation, and Commissioning

Equipment arrived at Cagayan de Oro port and was transported by road to the Bukidnon site. XLM provided remote commissioning support via WhatsApp video call, with Mr. Tom Xu guiding the local installation crew through each stage of mechanical assembly and electrical connection over a 10-day period. Trial production commenced smoothly, with the plant reaching 205TPH during the acceptance run.

    Results and Client Feedback

Within eight weeks of commercial operation, Mindanao Aggregates Corp. had doubled its monthly aggregate sales volume and secured a long-term supply contract with a regional road construction company. Mr. Roberto Dela Cruz stated: "The CJ Euro Jaw Crusher and HST Cone Crusher combination handles our hard river pebbles efficiently, and the cone crusher's wear life has been excellent compared to the impact crusher we initially considered. The split washing circuit -- XSD for fine sand and XL Spiral for coarse aggregate -- produces beautifully clean product that our concrete and road-building customers consistently approve. XLM's remote commissioning support was professional and patient. We are planning to add a BX Fine Sand Recovery Machine to further reduce fine-sand losses in the wash water, and we will definitely source it from Xianglong Machinery."
